ICAP’s latest white paper, Water Resources and Climate Change Adaptation in Hawai‘i: Adaptive Tools in the Current Law and Policy Framework, is hot off the press and now available online through the ICAP Blog.  See our Publications page to download a copy.

Climate trends observed today are a threat to Hawai‘i’s water resources.  This white paper identifies adaptive characteristics embedded within Hawai‘i’s existing water law and policy regime and proposes twelve tools to improve climate adaptation for the benefit of Hawai‘i’s water resources.  It is a must-read for anyone with water resource management duties in their job description, and for anyone who cares about the sustainability of fresh water in the islands.

An Executive Summary and printed copies of the full-length white paper will be available next month. The authors look forward to bringing the findings of this NOAA-funded study to decision-makers and the public through a series of presentations and roundtable discussions planned for spring and summer 2012.
